Unlike
other traditional Linksys routers, this device has Ports at rock bottom of the
device. On the opposite Linksys routers, you'll find connection ports on the
rear side of the device.
This
device contains 2 Ethernet ports. you'll connect your primary node together
with your Internet modem or modem/route to at least one of the Ethernet port on
Node.
In
case of other Linksys routers, you would like to attach one computer or laptop
to the router for the initial configuration. But just in case of Linksys Velop
setup, you are doing not need any computer. this technique are often configured
using mobile. you would like to Download and install Linksys Velop App on your
Android or Apple device. Using this App, you'll setup the device easily.
Take
the coaxial cable that comes with the device and connect it to Internet modem
and Velop Ethernet port. Plugin the facility and switch on the device. While
beginning the Node, you'll see Blinking Blue Light. When the Blue light is
solid, the Node is turned On and dealing .
Launch
the Linksys App. Select Velop System from the choice . Your Mobile Bluetooth
connection will wont to configure the system, so i will be able to ask you to
show on Bluetooth on your mobile. just in case if it ask to show on Location
then activate the situation Access also. Now the App will search for the first
Node within the network and it'll attempt to hook up with it automatically.
Once it finds the device.
The
Program will check for the web connection. just in case of PPPoE Internet
connection type, program won't find Internet connection if it's connected on to
the modem. Here click on the link that says i would like to enter my ISP
settings manually. Enter the PPPoE User name and password and go Next. In some
cases, ISP may offer you Static IP address settings. Enter the Static WAN IP
address given by ISP.
If
everything is okay then it'll offer you success message.
If
you're adding a replacement node with the wired connection then you are doing
not got to do anything. Just plugin the facility to the device. Connect coaxial
cable to the device that goes to main or other existing node. await the device
to show on. await the Blue light to become solid. once it's solid blue then
it's working.
Launch
Linksys App on your mobile and login. Tap on Menu icon. Select the choice at
rock bottom "Setup a replacement Product" Select Add nodes to
existing Wifi Network. Tap Next.
Instead
of counting on one Wi-Fi router at one end of your home, you place several
Velop hotspots round the house to make a mesh network - which seems like one
WiFi network to all or any your wireless gadgets. Your gadgets can seamlessly
jump between Velop nodes as you progress round the house, counting on the
strongest signal, which is like your mobile switches between mobile towers.
Using
Range Extender will reduce the Wifi Speed of the network. Image below explains
how the range extender will affect the speed.
According
to Linksys tech support on their forum - Each Node can handle up to 32 users.
So if you've got 100 users then 4 nodes are going to be sufficient. the utmost
number of nodes which will be added remains being tested by Linksys Engineering
team but currently, they need tested up to 6 nodes.
You
do not need computer for initial configuration. you'll roll in the hay using
Linksys App which you'll download on your android or iOS.
